Contemporary Persian design



Edelgund specializes in tribal rugs made by skilled weavers in their homes, where the soul of the craft is preserved. Authentic and sustainable, each rug is meticulously hand-woven from natural hand-spun wool and dyed with vegetable dyes. Thanks to its in-depth knowledge of Persian culture and expertise in traditional weaving and knotting techniques, Edelgrund's art is a blend of colors and textures, giving rise to exceptional, modern and timeless pieces that blend perfectly into any decor. 

Edelgund is STEP certified, a fair trade carpet label awarded by a non-governmental organization founded in Switzerland in 1995. The STEP standard encompasses human rights, including the prohibition of child labor, safe working conditions, fair wages and sustainable, environmentally-friendly production.

These rugs are made from top-quality wool from the Kurdistan region. Depending on the model, they are woven exclusively in Mazandaran, Yazd or Gilan, Iran. Weavers work in the comfort of their own homes. The dyes come from plants: turmeric, elder leaves and pomegranate skin for yellow, indigo for blue, walnut shell for brown, rose petals for pink and red tones, for example.
