Collection 13 paysages

Alphonse Osbert is best known as a Symbolist artist and a member of the Nabis movement. This was a group of post-impressionist painters who formed in the 1890s. They sought to explore new artistic approaches using bright colours, simplified forms and symbolic compositions. Osbert was interested in religious painting and mystical representations, often accepting works imbued with spirituality and mystery. His paintings often featured enigmatic figures, allegorical scenes and evocative landscapes. He was also renowned for his skilful use of light and subtle nuances. Etoffe.com and the photographic agency of the Réunion des Musées Nationaux and the Grand Palais have combined their expertise to offer a selection of 12 paintings in striking panoramic views. The series is completed by Spring, a Provencal landscape with pink almond trees by the painter Georges-Paul Leroux.
