Rebel is one of a series of wool rugs hand-tufted in the workshops of Serge Lesage. It attracts attention with its rectangular, whitish figures, raised above the base. The relief design is accentuated by the contrast with the warm colour of the base. The overall effect, inspired by the Mediterranean style, is reminiscent of ceramic tiles on a terracotta floor.
